Henna Night and Çakma dress
Henna-night is a ceremony, steeped in history and folklore, in whic the family of the bride-to-be gives her away to the family of the groom. Henna night, as the most colorful part of a series of wedding rituals, was for centuries one of the central "rites of passage" for the peoples of Anatolia of the Ottoman Empire
Çakma & Bindallı is the name of the dress that bright and her friends wear.
CALLA (A traditional meal from Karaman/Turkey)
Ingredients•half a kilo of eggplant
•1 kilo lamb meat
•3-4 parts of tallow or butter
•3-4 onions
•1 tablespoon of pepper paste
•1 tablespoon of tomato paste
•4 tomatoes
•3 green peppers
•1 capia pepper (red pepper) •1 head of garlic
•half jar of tomato sauce •Salt
•3-4 spoons of olive oil
We put the oil at the bottom of the casserole and place the diced lamb meat. We chop and place other ingredients on it. We put the tomatoes on the top and make salted water with tomato paste and pour it, finally we pour olive oil and cook it.
We don't eat or drink until the evening for 30 days in Ramadan. We call fasting "oruç". The most important day is in this month, the night of Kadr. It is believed that all of our wishes comes true if we pray that day. During ramadan, we usually give zekat (giving to needy) we have big breakfasts (sahur) before sunrise and we eat a lot of delicious food in the evenings (iftar). There will be "şerbet" (sweet syrup) sellers in the squares during Ramadan feast. The month of Ramadan changes every year thanks to moon calendar. The feast begins with the eid prayer in the morning, lasts three days. Everyone goes to their acquaintances. They are happy to reach the Ramadan feast. Children visit neighbours to collect candies and money and kiss the hands of their elders to show respect.
How to make Turkish coffee, which is the most beautiful drink unique to Turks;
Add a glass of water, 2 teaspoons of coffee and optional sugar to the coffee pot. Mix well, put the cezve on low heat and bring to a boil slowly. The slower the coffee is brewed, the better it will taste. When it starts to boil, distribute the foam over the cup, bring it to a boil again and distribute the rest over the cup. Turkish coffee is poured into special cups while being served. You can put Turkish delight and water next to it.
